CORONA VIRUS: Another sign from the Christian Book
Most of the non-Christians that I know usually refer to the holy bible as just the Christian book.
They are Africans, majorly from my Facebook friend list. Their dislike for the whites and anything that is associated with that race is top notch, including Christianity which was touted to have been imported into Africa.
Their age-long hatred for the white skinned came as a result of the colonialism that the African fathers experienced in the hands of the fore-fathers of the former. Which was what birth the unbelief of these people in the gospel of Jesus Christ, the faith that came with the slave trade.

Whenever I ensue anyone of them in a chat, as far as they are concerned saying Christian book seems belittling, but in all honesty as a Christian, I do
not consider that offensive in anyway because;
“for the message of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God”. 1 Corinthians 1:18
“for the message of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God”. 1 Corinthians 1:18
In fairness to our fore-fathers by the way, Christianity was
actually enforced on most of the Africans during the slave
trade, not like they truly understood what it was all about. They just had to
practice this ‘strange faith’ under duress and be horse-whipped
to answer to the appellation ‘Christians’.
But with
the advent of civilization however, there is unrestricted freedom to practice whatever
religion that pleases one, as long as it does not affect the
next person rather negatively. As a result of this, many African offspring are beginning to ‘dump’ the
religion forced on their fathers, to either go back to the traditional
religion or simply be atheists.
Well, I remained a Christian not because it is actually inherited, but because I am
deeply convinced of the efficacy of the power of the lord Jesus. It is a matter of personal conviction. I have seen and felt God in action in so many ways, hence assured of his might. And
despite the fact that I am ‘drunk’ in the love of Jesus, I try as
much as possible never to criticize other people’s religion, faith or belief. Posterity then says, others are expected to do same.
And anytime I am faced with having to preach the gospel of my faith, common sense also dictates that
I do so without having to make the other person look stupid for what he or she believes in. Not with the high level
of bloodshed that usually ensues religious arguments. And most importantly going by the
bible’s admonition, compelling Christians to live at peace with all men
regardless in Rom 12;18, and also going by John 6:44;
“no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me
draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day”.
All of these are screaming that, you cannot coax anyone into believing that Jesus is real if God himself does not intervene. It might end up an effort in futile.

Now to
the main issue;
No need
emphasizing on the physical and emotional damages the recent outbreak
of what corona virus has caused us the people of the world. But a careless post
by one of my traditional believer friends saw me coming up with this article.
He said
and I quote;
“The west
is under attack by this disease, now is the time for their religion to prove
its powers”
That I consider very insensitive.
And in response to him, some others like him and Christians
whose faith might get slackened by similar stuffs like these, should take solace in the fact that our book,
the holy bible has rightly predicted it.
Read Mat 24; 1-51.
Jesus Christ had said it to his disciples in Mat 24; 2C;
“In the last days, there shall not be left here one stone upon
another, that shall not be thrown down”
And when his disciples inquired what would be the signs of his coming and the end of the world, he replied them in verse 7 saying;
“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom, and there shall be famines, and PESTILENCES, and earthquakes,
in divers places”
And to further simplify pestilences to those whose first
language is not English, it is a FATAL
epidemic disease. Which means that the advent of corona virus very much like the sicknesses
of the past and the ones to come, are all signs indicating that the coming of our
lord Jesus Christ is near.
So this is not the time to get weary, overly scared or engage in futile argument with unbelievers. But the time to further preach the gospel that the end is indeed near, and that all the predictions of Jesus is all coming to pass one after the other. All of these alone should spark anyone into feeling it with us that JESUS IS very REAL.
And even though sometimes we get punished by God when we err, matter of fact, the world is engaged in so much atrocities that pestilences like these may be the check that we get from God to recall us to him for forgiveness.
2 Chronicles 7:13-14 says. "Whenever I hold back the rain or send locust to eat up the crops or send an epidemic on my people. 14- What if they pray to me and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again.
Either ways, stay calm, watch and pray.
Take all precautionary methods suggested by the constituted authorities and stay healthy.
It is suggested that regular washing of hands and use of sanitizer helps a lot, do same.
Read a lot about it and stay safe too.
Undoubtedly, the end is near, CHRISTIANS BEWARE, NEVER TO BE SCARED.
HAPPY SUNDAY
