Sexual abuse; Lack of V.O.I.C.E to the victims

Here goes the topic I least imagined coming to ponder on for too long, let alone birthing an article from. Not because I am out rightly insensitive to the plight of those that are/were sexually abused, but because I am like most inhabitants of the world, who do little or nothing than form a pity party with abused persons.         What actually jolted me was born out of the chat I recently had with an American, Megan Manigault, the initiator of I am VOICES (Vibrant Open-hearted Innocent Confident Empowered).         Now I’m sure I just succeeded in making you take another glance up at the caption.         By the way, I am VOICE is a Non-Governmental Organization that not only aim at raising awareness that people are actually being abused sexually around us though we might be totally oblivious of that, she also wants to uplift and empower people in other to heal and use their own voice to change their world.     ...

My first shot at love

This write up is purely an excerpt from the experiences I had when life felt it was time I learnt the lessons that would guide me through it. I discovered quite early in life that money is the root of all evil. I learnt that the only person who has your best interest at heart can only be you. And finally, the school of life tutored me that when life throws an arrow at you, it wants you to run into greatness. That of course, is if you are willing to look beyond your current predicament.   Have you ever been stabbed in the back right from the front? Well, I choose to say "right from the front" because it was all there for me to see, I was just not looking.   They call me double chief and this is my story. I was born into a wealthy polygamous family through a dad so wealthy that our residence is a sight to behold and such that a friend who had recently moved to our area once told me, " whoever has this property must be a robber". I smiled and said ...
