Unappreciation
This is plainly not showing gratitude. Synonyms however includes; ingrate, thankless and ungrateful. While the relative words are; rude, thoughtless and simply ungracious.
My emphasis goes all out to people who had enjoyed any form of assistance from the other person at one point in their life.
How well has the helper been appreciated by you? Sparingly, or never at all?
Many even had the effrontery to completely chop off the fingers that fed them. How sad!

To the popular saying; many dogs that lay helpless by the roadside are actually looking for food, so they could bite after being fed.
No truer words!
Posterity says that no form of assistance should be considered erstwhile. And why on earth should we forget that one person who was there when we needed succor?
Think about it!
And even when you put it to the ungrateful like;
“But s/he lent you cash for your business start up”
“ Got you your present job”
“Or that s/he once provided you shelter at a point when you were homeless and utterly helpless”
“And so what?” They’ll usually snapback.
“If he hadn’t helped me, someone else would have”
“If he hadn’t helped me, someone else would have”
Really?
Forget not the good deeds done to you in the past let alone at the moment.
Remember that man/woman who stood in gap for your needs, when others clearly deserted you.
Those who taught you how to fish instead of giving you fish should forever remain on the list of those you appreciate.
Regardless of their shortcomings, you had yours at your helpless state yet they looked away and endured.

So reciprocate same feat.
Resist the temptation to allow your ‘appreciative spirit’ fly out through the nearest exit as soon as you consider yourself ‘made’. There’s always a spirit that whispers to you at this point to damn your helper.
Abolish it, as it’ll only destroy YOU.
Here’s the feeling from the perspective of those who render help but unappreciated.
Of a proverb in my native language;
“The person who was helped and does not appreciate, is no different from a rogue that carts away one’s property”

Have you ever considered that with every human having a stint of selfishness, is emphasizing the fact that no assistance is easy?
Which makes benefactors king!
Save for those that offer symbiosis kind of help in which they are clearly expecting a favor in return. Otherwise, it takes a wholesome good heart to go an extra mile for anyone generally who aren’t in a position to return a good deed.
However, the bible clearly forbids the act of being ungrateful, not when the good done to you is paid with evil.
Proverbs 17;13 says; ‘Who so rewarded evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house’
This bible verse clearly says that a curse had to be laid on unappreciative people.
Therefore, appreciate God the giver of life and the entire good thing in it. Not forgetting the men, women, boys, girls, friends, relatives, neighbors, acquaintances, aunts, uncles, co-workers et al who served as the stairs that we climbed up the ladder of our success and prosperity.
Happy new month of Love.
