Life is not unfair; Races are just different.
There goes this popular saying ‘life is not fair’. But before you
think your life as being unfair, kindly bear this in mind, that, all fingers are not equal.
Which explains why the rich could be denied
the joy of parenthood, and one termed ‘lowly’, barely able to afford a daily meal, births a population
enough to make a football team.
Someone highly waged would pay rent all his days, to one who seemed a nonentity. Another reason why people think life isn’t fair right?
Someone highly waged would pay rent all his days, to one who seemed a nonentity. Another reason why people think life isn’t fair right?
Ever wondered the number of A-list students wandering about
unemployed? And the supposed dullards, not only amassing wealth, but became employers of the former. Intelligent students are in fact being employed by school
drop-outs. Should I just say this, that the smart ones haven’t actually
discovered their lanes, so as to run it differently.
Consider this too, that some people got wedded earlier in life, only to have delayed conception (in some cases), spanning into decades
for some even. While those who were termed ‘unlucky’,
hence wedded much later, settles down eventually, and are blessed with
offspring in due course. Some maintained chastity till the night of matrimony, only
to become a barren wife. Amazingly, a lady with several abortions up her
collage had to use contraceptives soon after getting married, just to stop her
from having more than enough babies. That also seems unfair right?
We cry foul that the good ones end
up badly, and then vice versa. What you know not is, everyone of us are indeed
blessed, but added to our blessings, are little stints of challenges and ‘unfairness’
that makes us feel that life isn’t treating us fairly. However, that should not
be a limiting factor, but instead a motivating factor to discovering ones’
lane.
We are all different and unique, in
our different ways. Evidence to attest to this fact is our thumbprints which are
distinctively designed. That is a telltale
sign that God himself, is aware
of the races we are to run differently.
Therefore, when you begin to view
life as being unfair, you begin to think evil of those whose life seem perfect,
oblivious of the battles they might be fighting in the dark corners of their
lives too.
Just because a lot of people chose
not to wear their sorrows on their
faces like some sort of facials, doesn’t mean their life is perfect. They only
chose to run their uniquely different race without much fuss on the lane, that
doesn’t seem to work in their favor. I noticed the poor are oftentimes the
category of people, who generally feel, they are slammed with the hammer of
life’s unfairness the most, oblivious of the fact that the rich also cry.
Take a cue from the great Otedola family, whom despite having
their heir being autistic never wallowed in self pity. Instead,
they chose to bask in the euphoria of the goodies life has offered them in lieu.
They are not only a success in all areas they have chosen, but are living their
life to the fullest, portraying the brighter side to the public, gave less
attention to wallowing in self pity on the struggles of managing an autistic
son/brother.
So cease adjudging yourself a
failure or that you are simply unfortunate, truth is, nobody is until you
decide to become the architect of your own misfortune by brooding too much over
your life inadequacies.
Life isn’t unfair; it just happens that
you are running a race that is different from others around you, if only you
can discover your lane.
Harness your regrets into positivity
and you would be better off.
Case scenarios;
·
Incessantly being turned down at
interviews, while your friends are employed, and supposedly doing fine? It may be that you’re not just meant to work
for someone, so think about that, and discover your own race.
·
Disappointed in relationships when
you are clearly justified? Can a bull cohabit with a crocodile? S/He isn’t your
race partner so it’ll never work out. Why bother when you are someone’s prayer
point for the choice of a life partner.
·
Without a child of your own? Do not wallow in self pity. Adopt the neighborhood
kids as yours and be good to them instead. Mothers are not necessarily a female
who births a child, but one who tenders and shows affection, tutors and protects.
There’s an orphanage that goes by the name, Ijamido children home founded by an expatriate, Mrs. Willoughby. She never had kids of
her own, but dedicated her entire existence into catering for these motherless
babies in Nigeria. She is the true definition of Motherhood, and sadly, how many mothers made waves and gained public
recognition like she did when she was alive? Yet she never had kids of her own.
Popular Nigerian actress, now a
veteran, Joke Silver was adopted and
raised by a woman who had no kids of her own too, but got all the care and
attention any biological mother would get.
Think less of your childless situation. Tendering to non biological kids
might be your race, run it without complaining.
Harness your goods to utmost
positivity, it’s not possible to be an outright failure, you just have not been
able to discover it.
Let me leave you with two instances from these successful
brands;
·
Teju
baby face once said that despite the fact that he used to be a
seasoned comedian and MC, he soon noticed that the applaud he gets whenever he
climbs on the stage of a popular annual comedy show, wasn’t commensurate to the
performances he delivers. He noticed Comedians that came after him were better
applauded. He then took a back seat, to rediscover him. That was when he came
up with the teju baby face show
which we all know is not just a success, but has definitely come to stay. He
has carved a niche for himself on that field, just because he decides never to
feel bad about his not too encouraging career in comedy. He ran a different
race from his friends, and he succeeded.
·
Onyemyke is an
instagram star, who explained, that he didn’t make waves like his friends who
went into music. He also feels his voice sounds better than theirs, but it didn’t
take him too long to notice that his race was clearly different from theirs.
This he did in form of dishing out of real life advices to his followers. The
number of adverts and endorsements he gets lately, is a pointer to the
successful brand he had evolved into.
So until you discover your lane to run a uniquely different
race, keep searching, and please remember, that Life has never been unfair,
races are just clearly different.
