A better fraction of employees serving tirelessly at various companies are often set aback by fear of the unknown , lacking the courage to be an entrepreneur or out rightly clue-less on what to do.   Some others are limited by paucity of funds and no amount of motivational speech would make them fire their employers as it is always said. Employees asides, there are also business owners that are presently struggling with getting things right and raking in profit as expected. To everyone on this 'ship',    now is actually the best time to be a rice farmer.   It is no longer news that the land borders in Nigeria has been shut for a few months. Many times when people praise my efforts having succeeded at something, same thing others had ventured into but totally unable to birth a reasonable level of success from, I find it so hard to admit it as my own making. The God-factor I just cannot take away from my dealings. Working hard and gunning for success are mere effort that is needed by God to make a successful wish to come to fruition. Just like it is said that; “h eaven helps those who helps themselves” . Mercy actually takes over from where human effort stops. The act of giving as exhibited by people in recent times is usually done in clear contrast with biblical methods. Having to give and accompanied by media frenzy, sheer publicity and razzmatazz or symbiotic giving is not God’s acceptable standards for giving.   Mathew 6; 3- “but when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing”. Meanwhile, in as much as God encourages us to give rightly, it remains optional still. Giving is rewarding as referred to in Proverb 18; 16 - “but when you give, you receive. A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great” And Proverb 11;25 ; “A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others would be refreshed”. I remembered when I was a Youth Corp Member in 2010 , news filtered into town of an illegal Camp where youths who were denied National service were kept, supposedly as Corp Members too.  Put together by some crooked set of individuals, participants albeit illegal Corp members coughed out huge sums, just to have a feel of what it was like to serve their fatherland. Having been deprived of being called a graduate as a result of either being rusticated from school, or for some students who did part time courses hence not allowed going for youth service, finding solace in this pseudo camping was the only available option for them to ‘wear’ a khaki uniform . Another time, an illegal military recruitment camp was uncovered. The men at the entrance according to eye witnesses’ account were said to have adorned military uniforms, and wielded guns even (a common military mien). Ironically, it was discovered to be a den of criminals where robbers and kidnappers were recruited...

In the African community of old and in some few cultures and households till date, women were to be seen, not to be heard. They are often relegated to the backyard of their matrimony not just to cook, but be made love to. They are also saddled with the responsibilities of raising kids and be in charge of the general well being of the household. And at the end of their lives however, most of them looks older than their husbands.
