Drink responsibly

   Just before the ban on cigarette advert in the country, the footnote/voice-over was; “The Federal Ministry of Health, warns that, smokers, are liable to die young” That sounds scary enough for anyone  not to smoke, even though it never stopped defiant children from wanting to taste death despite living still. Adverts for alcoholic drinks aren’t any different. Usually after all those classy display of handsome dudes and sexy models comes; “Not suitable for persons under 18, drink responsibly” My point exactly!   Globally, those below 18 years  are described as minors, mini persons not adult enough to make major life decisions. They are not even allowed to vote, so no surprises that alcohols are not meant to be consumed by them. But for an adult, I am still in awe of how someone finds it difficult to know the limit of alcohol consumption that births instant insanity from them. My take on Fulani herdsmen

Sometimes in June, the internet was filled with news of killings purposefully perpetrated by the Fulani herdsmen in Plateau state. Today, opinions, planned actions on how to forestall a similar thing from happening seem to have subsided. And like we always do in Nigeria , other news (mostly irrelevant to the lives of the people) has actually occupied us. For the sake of non-Nigerians by the way, Fulani is a tribe from the Northern part of the country who are not just nomadic in nature, but predominantly rears cattle for a living. People of obscure origin who abides not only in Nigeria  but also in other countries like Niger, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea, Burkina faso, Ghana, Benin, Cote d e voire and Cameroon.
